UMNO chief Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has urged party MPs to withdraw support for PM Muhyiddin Yassin in view of the Agong’s statement.
Ahmad Zahid Hamidi also demanded the resignation of PM Muhyiddin Yassin and law minister Takiyuddin Hassan, terming the move to revoke emergency as “treason against the Royal Household.”
PM Muhyiddin Yassin has been facing flak of the opposition leaders since Agong revealed that the decision to revoke the National Emergency by the government was not even part of his discussion.
UMNO president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi today urged all party lawmakers to leave the government bloc and sit aside in the Parliament to show their displeasure against the current ruling government.
He said that MPs must quit their position while withdrawing support for PM Muhyiddin Yassin.
Ahmad Zahid Hamidi also said that the de facto law minister Takiyuddin Hassan did a big mistake by not taking Agong in the loop on the revocation of the National Emergency.
Earlier, UMNO Supreme Council member Puad Zarkashi had asked those party MPs who are ministers and deputy ministers to resign immediately.
The ruckus was created in parliament soon after Istana Negara issued a statement, stating that Law Minister decided on the revocation of the National Emergency without even asking Agong.
