The survival thriller series is about a group of people participating in a mysterious competition where they play deadly childhood games for cash prizes. In less than a week after its release, it has managed to impress millions of fans and has become the first Korean drama series to hit the number 1 spot on Netflix.

In a statement, the streaming service spokesperson said the series is on track to become the most-watched Netflix show ever. “Squid Game will be our biggest non-English language show in the world, for sure, with a very good chance it’s going to be our biggest show ever,” he said.
