Selangor state assembly Speaker Ng Suee Lim today said that Rizam Ismail has yet to submit his resignation letter as Selangor Opposition Leader. Over the appointment of his replacement, Ng said that Rizam needs to submit his resignation letter first.

He was replying to the motion submitted by Mohamed Azmin Ali, who suggested Dr Ahmad Yunus Hairi as Opposition Leader during today’s Selangor state assembly sitting.

In a statement, Ng said, “In the assembly, we cannot just listen to words and it cannot be brought (to the assembly), facts are needed, letter (from Rizam) and so forth. When he suddenly represented UMNO, I was surprised, Rizam is the one supposed to hand in the letter to me.”
