The Agong has asked the MPs to restart parliament as soon as possible to debate on the ongoing Covid-19 situation in the country and Emergency laws. The move comes hours after Agong’s meeting with Malay rulers at Istana Nagara in the national capital, Kuala Lumpur.
In a statement, the palace said that the Agong has taken the decision after meeting with political parties that was held last week and yesterday’s Special Independent Committee on the Emergency 2021 and briefings by government experts.
The Agong also said that country needs a strong and stable government, especially in the time Covid-19, that has killed more than 4,000 people.
