Provide Up To RM10,000 To Flood Victims: Anwar Ibrahim To Govt

PKR chief Anwar Ibrahim has urged the government to provide at least 5,000 to RM10,000 as financial aid to all the victims affected by the recent floods. Anwar Ibrahim said the move must be taken after the government stopped allowing the withdrawal of Employees Provident Fund (EPF) contributions. He said that all the flood victims are currently in a state of great suffering and desperation as they are now burdened with devastating losses.

Opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim further said that the effort to add more burdens to the people with extreme bureaucracy will only slow down the process of channeling aid.

“When the government does not allow the withdrawal of the Employee Savings Group (KWSP), then they should therefore provide immediate assistance between RM5,000 to RM10,000 per person according to the circumstances and the effects of the losses suffered as a result of this disaster,” he said in his Facebook post.
