The deal will be signed by Prime Minister Ismail Sabri and the top leaders from the opposition party Pakatan Harapan (PH) today. The decision was made considering that this might become the country’s road to economic recovery from the pandemic.

Yesterday, Ismail Sabri, who took office last month after UMNO decided to withdraw support for Muhyiddin Yassin, said that his administration would implant a series of reforms to strengthen the role of parliament.
Earlier in August, he met with top opposition leaders to discuss the ongoing Covid-19 battle and also signed a joint statement pledging to “lower the political temperature.”
