Perikatan Nasional chairman Muhyiddin Yassin today declared that he has enough support of MPs to return as the country’s 10th prime minister. He said he has the backing of MPs from two main coalitions which won the majority of seats in Sabah and Sarawak namely Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) and Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS).

Muhyiddin who had a meeting with the leaders of the two parties today said that both parties have agreed to nominate his name for the prime minister’s post. He further said that the matter has been conveyed to the PN supreme council.
The Gabungan Parti Sarawak and Gabungan Rakyat Sabah both have 28 seats together, while Perikatan Nasional holds 73 seats.
