Khalid Samad denied Claims That Amanah Gave Anwar A Week’s Time To Oust Muhyiddin

Kuala Lumpur: Parti Amanah Negara described the recent news report “untrue”, which claimed that the party has given the opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim a week to oust current Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin. Adding that Amanah does not give an ultimatum to its coalition partners.

In a statement, its communications director Khalid Abdul Samad stated that the position of Anwar Ibrahim and regaining government from the Perikatan Nasional are two different things for the party, and by making such false claims the reports are trying to worsen the ties between Amanah and Anwar.

He pointed out that opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim’s position is a matter of discussion between the Pakatan Harapan (PH) component parties and Amanah cannot solely decide.

He said that Anwar taking the responsibility for what happened in parliament on 26 November, had been appreciated by Amanah’s national committee.
