Joey Jordison, the noted American musician, songwriter and drummer, has died on July 26. He was 46. Nathan Jonas “Joey” Jordison, best knowm for his work as a drummer at the aggressive hard rock band Slipknot —- an institution he himself co-founded, “died peacfully in his sleep”, a family statement said. The reason of Joey Jordison’s death are not immediately known.
It is said that Joey Jordison had been drumming since the age of 8. He performed with many bands — but his big break came when he joined the group The Pale Ones in 1995, which would later change their name to Slipknot.
Jordison shot to fame with Slipknot —- and stayed with it till his departure in the late 2013. He was also known for drumming and founding Scar the Martyr —- that played between 2013 to 2016.
Jordison also shared the stage with groups like —- Rob Zombie, Metallica, Korn, Ministry, Otep, and Satyricon. He was playing for the band Sinsaenum Before his death.
“Joey’s death has left us with empty hearts and feelings of indescribable sorrow. To those that knew Joey, understood his quick wit, his gentle personality, giant heart and his love for all things family and music,” his family said in a statement.
