Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob obtained an ad interim injunction against Lokman Noor Adam over his defamation suit. The high court today allowed the temporary injunction and ordered Lokman to file an affidavit in reply By October 11 and for Ismail to file in by October 25. This comes after Lokman allegedly made a defamatory statement on Ismail Sabri’s social media account. He also posted several videos on his social media account defaming Ismail.

The proceedings were held virtually in front of Judge Ahmad Shahrir Mohd Salleh. Lawyer Ragunath Kesavan, who is representing Ismail Sabri, said the court has also ordered both the defendant and the plaintiff to file written submissions by November 8 and to file written submissions in reply by November 22.
The court ordered Lokman to delete all the videos after Ismail obtained an interim injunction on September 12. The videos were uploaded on Lokman’s YouTube, Facebook, Instagram and TikTok account.
The court has also issued an injunction preventing Lokman from uploading such defamatory videos statements on his social media or any other website.
