India’s Harnaaz Sandhu was today crowned Miss Universe 2021. The 21-year-old from India’s Sikh-dominated Punjab state became the 70th Miss universe, in pageant that was held in Eilat, Israel. Harnaaz Sandhu is the third Indian to win the crown after beauty queens Lara Dutta in 2000 and Sushmita Sen in 1994.
The model-turned-actress claimed the crown leaving behind Paraguay’s Nadia and South Africa’s Lalela.

Sandhu, who oozed out confidence and grace throughout the competition, wooed the judges in her beautiful Maroon cap-sleeved swimsuit in the Swimsuit round and shielded her spot in the top 10.
In the final round of the competition, when the contestants were asked their advice to the young women on dealing with the pressure they face today, Harnaaz talked about self-confidence. She said, “The biggest pressure the youth of today is facing is to believe in themselves, to know that you are unique and that’s what makes you beautiful. Stop comparing yourselves with others and let’s talk about more important things that’s happening worldwide.”
Harnaaz Sandhu has previously been crowned As Miss Diva 2021, Femina Miss India Punjab 2019, and has worked in Punjabi movies.
