After McDonald’s Malaysia, KFC has also been forced to deny it’s customers large portions of french fries -potato chips due to a global shortage of potatoes. Both the multi-outlet fast-food chains are in search of other distribution channels to curb the shortage, that have arisen due to the disruptions caused by the Covid-19 pandemic. Certain items from the menu have been temporarily removed.

On Monday McDonald’s Malaysia took it to their Twitter to announce that it will no longer serve large fries with meals due to a supply crunch, ‘We are facing a fry-tening supply crunch on French Fries. But fret not. ‘While you can’t Go Large for the time being, you can still enjoy your favourite meals and fries in Medium size. ‘Time fries… It’ll be back before you know it.’
Many fast-food lovers have expressed their distress due to the unavailability of their favourite food item. Some customers took it to their social media to express their anger.
