China Plane Crashes With 132 On Board

An aircraft from Eastern China carrying 132 passengers has crashed in the mountains in South China causing a forest fire. The aircraft was a 6-year-old Boeing 737-800NG. China’s Civil Aviation Administration said China Eastern Airlines 600115.SS aircraft was flying from the city of Kunming to Guangzhou. It had a total of 123 passengers and 9 crew members on board. According to Chinese state media CCTV, the plane has completely fallen apart.

According to Flightradar24, said there was no word on the cause of the crash, however, CAAC said the aircraft lost its contact over the city of Wuzhou.

In a statement, it said, “The CAAC has activated the emergency mechanism and sent a working group to the scene.” It is believed the flight departed from the southwestern city of Kunming at 1:11 pm, while its tracking ended at 2:22 pm at an altitude of 3225 feet with a speed of 376 knots.

Later, the website of China Eastern Airlines was presented in black and white, which airlines do to show their respect for the crash victims.
