After the defeat at Rayo Vallecano, Barcelona sat 9th in La Liga with four wins and three draws from ten matches, and third in their Champions League group after just one win in three.
“Ronald Koeman will say goodbye to the squad on Thursday at the Ciutat Esportiva. FC Barcelona wishes to thank him for his service to the club and wishes him all the best in his professional career,” the official statement read.
Koeman has seen huge success as a player at the Nou Camp, winning four La Liga titles and the European Cup. He had only one year left on his term. He had replaced Quique Setien at the Nou Camp in August 2020.
