Pakatan Harapan chairman Anwar Ibrahim and Perikatan Nasional chairman Muhyiddin Yassin have arrived at Istana Negara for an audience with Yang di-Pertuan Agong. Both the leaders were summoned by the King after the result of the 15th general election which ended with a hung parliament.

In a statement, the Comptroller of Istana Negara Ahmad Fadil Shamsuddin said that King had called Anwar Ibrahim and Muhyiddin Yassin to meet today at 4.30 pm at Istana Negara. This is the first time in Malaysia election history that there is no clear winner with a simple majority of 112 parliamentary seats to form the new federal government.
Pakatan Harapan secured the most number of seats in GE15 with 82, followed by Perikatan Nasional (73), Barisan Nasional (30), Gabungan Parti Sarawak (23), Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (6), Warisan (3), Parti Bangsa Malaysia and Parti Kesejahteraan Demokratik Masyarakat one seat each.
