In a tweet, Khairy stated, “Those currently under Quarantine and have done seven days can do their PCR tests starting today. If you are negative you will be released on Monday.”
This comes after PM Ismail Sabri’s announcement to shorten the quarantine period starting October 18. According to the new rule, fully vaccinated individuals will spend seven days in quarantine, while partially or non-vaccinated individuals will spend 10 days under quarantine.
The new policy is for citizens, permanent residents, expatriates, diplomatic corps and foreigners, close contacts and those entering into the country from high-risk areas.
