Kuala Lumpur: Former Lord President Tun Dr Mohamed Salleh Abas, who had recently tested positive for Covid-19, passed away on Saturday Morning. He was 91-year old.
According to reports, Dr Abas died at Sultanah Nur Zahirah Hospital (HSNZ) in Kuala Terengganu, where he was referred shortly after contracted deadly Coronavirus.
Dr Abas, who served as the Chief Justice of Malaysia from 1984 to 1988, had contested elections for the first time in 1990 on PAS’ seat and claimed the victory on Jerteh state seat.
During the Judicial crisis in 1988, Dr Abas was sacked from the Lord President of the Supreme Court position.
He belonged to Kampung Raja, Besut in Terengganu.
